💊National Prescription Drug Take Back Day💊
Saturday, October 24, 2026 | 10:00 AM–2:00 PM

Have unneeded or expired medications at home? Bring them to the Ridgeland Police Department on Saturday, October 24th, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM for safe and responsible disposal!

This national event provides a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unwanted medications while helping raise awareness about the potential for medication misuse and abuse. Clearing out those unused medications can help keep them out of the wrong hands and contribute to a safer community.

Please join us as we celebrate the well earned retirement of our Patrol Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Billie Pepper. Mrs. Billie has been the steady backbone of the Ridgeland Police Department since 2009. We cannot think of a harder worker that has an eye for detail and a memory that none of us could ever compete with. The halls will never be the same without “gentle reminders” and Welch’s fruit snacks. Mrs. Billie has kept the entire department in line since she started and there are hundreds of law enforcement officers and municipal employees who have her to thank for making our entire job easier. We invite past and present employees and friends of Mrs. Billie to please come and celebrate with us (and pray the building doesn’t collapse when she leaves). We will see you Wednesday, October 7, from 3-5pm in the Ridgeland Municipal Court room.

Our thoughts go out to the Clinton Police Department and Detective Anthony Fox. We know how the loss of a K9 officer affects everyone in the department and the community. Please keep this department and his handler in your prayers.

End of Watch: September 30, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the Clinton Police Department announces the unexpected passing of K-9 Officer Anika, following a sudden medical condition today, September 30, 2026.

Since 2020, K-9 Officer Anika served the City of Clinton with unwavering loyalty, courage, and dedication alongside her dedicated handler and partner, Detective Anthony Fox. Together, they formed an unbreakable bond—protecting our streets, serving our community, and keeping one another safe shift after shift.

To Detective Fox and the entire Clinton Police Department family, we offer our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers during this incredibly difficult time. The loss of a Police K-9 is felt deeply across our entire agency and community; Anika was not just an Officer, but a faithful companion, a defender, and a beloved member of the department family.

Thank you for your tireless service and devotion, Anika. Your shift is done, your duty is fulfilled, and your legacy will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, sweet girl. We’ll take the watch from here.

Marquis Lewis started with the Ridgeland Police Department as an Animal Control Officer. He quickly showed that he was destined for more and worked hard to go through the process to become a police officer. Please congratulate him in his journey- we expect great things.

Marquise Terrell Lewis was sworn in this week as a City of Ridgeland Police Officer. Congratulations!
