We have been made aware of individuals contacting residents and pretending to be with the Sheriff’s Office, claiming that the person missed jury duty and must immediately pay a fine over the phone.

THIS IS A SCAM.

Please do not provide personal information, banking information, credit/debit card numbers, or send payment to anyone making this type of call.

If you receive a suspicious call like this, hang up.

Please share this information with your family, friends, and neighbors—especially those who may be more vulnerable to phone scams.

Stay alert and do not send money to anyone demanding payment over the phone for missed jury duty.
