Today in do-it-at-Rhyme-Time-so-you-don't-have-to-do-it-at-your-own-house news, we present pumpkin hammering AND pumpkin painting. 🎃 It was a glorious mess and all the hammered pumpkins went to a local farm to feed some lucky chickens. Win, win, win! 🐓

They're probably sick of hearing it, but one more enormous THANK YOU for our friends at Lawrie Family Farms for donating so many pumpkins for our patrons to enjoy. You've made so many October days brighter with your donation.

This afternoon, our Dickinson Teen Group painted pumpkins: a screen-free way to decompress after school, get creative, and make something to take home for fall.

Dickinson Teen Group is a private, monthly program at RPL for students in grades 6-12 enrolled in Dickinson’s Community & School Based Behavioral Health program. Each session centers on a mindfulness-based craft, always hands-on, always a little fun, giving teens a dedicated space to unwind and connect.

Thank you to Lawrie Family Farms for donating the pumpkins. Your generosity made this afternoon possible!

This morning at Story Time, a new friend moved into the children’s room. Meet Patch, our quilt ghost. 👻

Hand-sewn by our friend Taz at The Wild Fleur, Patch arrived with a donation in memory of Dolly Parton. We’re so grateful for the support and for our spooky cute new resident. 🤠 💐

After hearing “The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt,” our readers got to work on ghosts of their own, each one patched together from a different mix of colors. Patch has some very bright company now.

Next week: our annual Costume Party Story Time! Send your child in costume (Halloween pajamas count) and bring a treat to share if you’d like.

Story Time meets Tuesdays at 10:30AM at the Ridgway Public Library. Designed for kids 0 to 6, each morning features stories, art, movement, and play.

🚨 Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is responsible for their supervision at all times.
