10/17/2026

As members have been prepping & preparing the stew over the last 2 days, the calls have also been coming in to keep your volunteers on their feet.

10/16 @1430 hours- Rescue Engine & transport handled a motor vehicle accident on Milton Hwy. Single vehicle found with moderate damage with 1 occupant for transport.

10/16 @1450 hours- Engine & tanker handled a brush fire on Clark’s Mill road. Mutual aid provided from Kentuck & Blairs. Fire was quickly contained & extinguished.

10/17 @1035 hours- Rescue engine, ladder, and transport handled a motor vehicle accident on South Boston Hwy near the county line. Single vehicle found in the median with minor damage with no injuries.

The 3rd run before lunch involved this tractor trailer that had broke down causing a major traffic hazard on HWY 58. Engine & ladder assisted with traffic control as the driver got the truck able to be moved to a safe location.

Sending our prayers to the brothers & sisters of Durham FD this morning as they’ve experienced a tremendous loss.

This morning, a Durham (NC) firefighter was killed at a building fire in the 400 block of Marly Road. Two other firefighters were injured but are expected to be okay. No other additional or official details have been released, reports WRAL.

We're compiling our information, including late-arrival scene pics as well as radio traffic. Google for latest news reports, or monitor official social sites, for now.

Motor vehicle accident with fly out

Members were dispatched to the intersection of South Boston Hwy & Milton Hwy after lunch for a reported vehicle crash with injuries. Units arrived finding a 2 vehicle crash with heavy damage. Due to the patients condition AirLife was requested to transport the patient from our helipad. Rescue engine, ladder, and transport responded on this incident.

As summer is coming to a close, we’re excited stew season is next! Our first Brunswick stew of the season will be October 17th. Stew is priced at $9.00 per quart. As always, we encourage everyone that wants a quart to please pre order, as those instructions will be below. Thank you to those who continue to support us during our fundraising events.

The second wreck of the day was to provide a mutual aid request into Halifax County to assist on a vehicle accident with reported entrapment this afternoon. Units arrived to find Turberville Fire & Rescue assessing the patient who was outside the vehicle. Members assisted in packaging & removing the patient from the wooded area. Halifax Rescue transported the patient to a landing zone. Units remained on scene approximately for an hour before being released, a transport unit was dispatched but cleared after arrival of Halifax Rescue.

09/21/2026

Units operating this morning on a motor vehicle accident in the 7000 block of South Boston Hwy. Trucks arrived to find a single road tractor that had struck the bridge & came to rest against the guardrail in the east bound lanes. Transport obtained a refusal from the driver. The truck had a minor fuel leak that members were able to mitigate. VDEM, VDOT, State Police, and a heavy duty wrecker are assisting on the scene while Ringgold responded with a rescue engine, ladder, utility, and transport.

Engine & transport operating on a minor vehicle accident at this time in the 3900 Block of Ringgold Church Rd. Deer vs vehicle. Transport obtained refusal while the engine held traffic control.

Members operating on multiple vehicle accidents over the course of today.

Around 5pm a vehicle accident on Clarks Mill Rd was dispatched, units arrived finding a single vehicle off the road with a single occupant suffering from an arm injury. Engine & transport responded.

Around 730pm another accident was dispatched in the 400 block of Milton Hwy. Units arrived to find a multi vehicle accident with heavy damage. This accident has caused major traffic issues/congestion on Milton Hwy due to the fair traffic already in the area. This accident utilized transports from Danville Squad 20, Pittsylvania County Squad 3, one of our own & an engine from 23 responded.

During both of these incidents other members were standing by at the fairgrounds as thousands of people gathered. Members have transported multiple patients already today from the fair today. Please keep the members who are out spending long hours in the weather & away from their families in your prayers.
