Well it's been a satisfying year of voice training. Some lovely new students. Two winners of Teeny Awards- one going off to college. God bless you Cheyanne! I know you will do wonderfully! A new poem that came willingly. It's called I Like Words
I like words
They make me smile
Or frown either, or
And sometimes cry.

I love definitions
The roots of it all
It knocks down suspicions
Of what it should be called

It’s kind of my theme
Knowing there is hope forever
Moving the world to see
Hope is my endeavor

I do it in different meters
In musical terms to boot
Sometimes abab for the readers
Sometimes free verse is my salute

It’s something that makes my heart beat
It’s deep with my soul
The circle of life complete
To bring hope is my goal

It rattles my brain
Brings tears to my eyes
If only I could explain
The source of hope that abides

I don’t mean to offend
But only to intervene
I’d like to commend
love you might think unseen

A breeze that wipes away your frown
A thought could it really be true
A love that brings the walls down
A way that we can get through

Just a few words to say
Father forgive
This day could be your day
For you to start to live.

Live not for yourselves
Or what is passing by
Not for what compels
But what can occupy

Here on earth and beyond
Scientists say energy never dies
So have you a response?
Choice is simple; the truth or lies.
