Every Riverside resident deserves the opportunity to build a future here.

I joined Inland SoCal Housing Collective and my fellow mayors Mayor Helen Tran and Ulises Cabrera to discuss the importance of investing in affordable housing across our region.

Here in Riverside, projects like Mulberry Gardens show these investments can create homes where families can thrive, seniors can age with dignity, and the next generation can put down roots in the community they love.

With more than 450 affordable homes in Riverside ready to move forward, we know the need is real and the missing piece is funding. I’m proud to support Proposition 1 and the opportunity it represents to help turn planned housing into homes for our residents.

I am proud to announce that Riverside was recognized by Climate Mayors as a winning solution in their Stories of Impact Competition during New York Climate Week!
Through tree planting, park investments, flood mitigation, and more, we’re building a cooler, healthier, and more resilient community! 🌳👥

We’re also investing more than $1 million in federal funding to map our urban forest and identify heat islands, helping target investments where they’re needed most. 🙌

Making life more affordable takes all levels of government working together, removing barriers to housing, bringing federal dollars back home, and investing in projects that strengthen our community.

We’re already seeing that partnership at work across Riverside, with investments in the historic Armory at Fairmount Park and Sunrise at Bogart, which will bring new supportive housing and resources to the community.

The Crosstown Showdown, a new tradition celebrating school spirit, hometown pride, and a friendly rivalry between UC Riverside and California Baptist University.

Throughout the academic year, the Highlanders and Lancers will go head-to-head across multiple sports, with each matchup earning points toward the Crosstown Showdown Championship Trophy. At the end of the year, one university will be crowned Crosstown Showdown Champion.

Every matchup counts. Every point matters. And there can only be one champion.
