Congratulations to Sandy Word and Danny Kessler on 10 amazing years of serving up Which Wich Superior Sandwiches in Murrieta! 🥪❤️

Your giving hearts, genuine kindness, and commitment to our community are what make you both so special. You’ve built so much more than a business—you’ve built relationships, created memories, and made a lasting impact on the people around you.

Thank you for 10 years of generosity, friendship, and always finding ways to give back. Murrieta is truly better because of you!

Congratulations on this incredible milestone, Sandy and Danny! Here’s to many more years of success, laughter, and serving our wonderful community!

Please choose to STOP instead of running a Red Light. Your life and others depend on it.

Every intersection is a choice. The time you might save running a red light is measured in seconds, the consequences can last a lifetime. Stop on red. Every intersection, every time.

Proactive approach does save lives! Thank you MPD for all you do to keep our community safe 24-7 / 365 days a year.

DUI/DRIVER'S LICENSE CHECKPOINT RESULTS

On Friday, August 21, 2026, Murrieta Police Department officers conducted a DUI/Driver's License checkpoint in the eastbound lanes of Murrieta Hot Springs Road at Whitewood Road from 1800-0015 hours.

📊 By the numbers:

It’s open! The designated right turn lane into the Sam’s Clubs shopping center is now open!
The right turn green signal arrow should be on line in the next few days. Thank you for everyone’s patience during this very delayed project.

Thank you Exceptional Opportunities for donating the new Communication Board at Vintage Reserve Park. Thank you Excel Landscaping for taking care of the installation at no charge to the city. This board is a game changer that allows non-verbal children to communicate with other children when enjoying the park. Better Together building an inclusive and fun community!

Update: Additional progress was made last night as crews worked throughout the night to prepare the road for a new overlay on all lanes before striping can take place.

Progress continues on the new dedicated right-turn lane from Murrieta Hot Springs Road into the Sam’s Club center, and it’s getting closer to opening. A new right-turn signal arrow will also help improve traffic flow and reduce backups along Murrieta Hot Springs Road. Another important improvement to help keep Murrieta moving!

Please slow your roll!

Please slow your roll!

With our students heading back to class next week, please use extra caution when driving near schools and through school zones.

🚗 Slow down and follow posted speed limits.
👮 Be prepared for increased traffic enforcement around schools.
👀 Stay alert for students walking, biking, and crossing the street.

Give yourself a little extra time, put the distractions away, and help us keep students safe as they head to and from school.

Slow down, our kids are back in class! 🎒
