The 50th Biennial CPF Convention in Long Beach was a powerful reminder that, together, we will always rise to the challenge. Over the past few days, we set the course for the next two years… establishing key legislative priorities and electing a strong executive board to lead our profession forward.

Congratulations to Darrell Roberts on being elected President of CPF, and to Dave Prietto on becoming 1st District Vice President. We look forward to your leadership as we continue to move forward and meet the moment.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to Brian Rice for eight years of dedicated leadership and your lifetime of commitment to firefighters across California. Your impact will be felt for years to come—wishing you and your family all the best in retirement.

Stronger together. Ready to rise to the challenge. 🔥

The Riverside City Firefighters Association is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our brother, Battalion Chief Scott Wilson.

Scott was as tough as they come — a true firefighter’s firefighter who always placed the needs of his brothers and sisters in the Riverside Fire Department above his own. His strength and work ethic were unmatched, but it was his heart that defined him. He was a devoted family man and friend who took care of others without hesitation.

Scott was one of the founding members of the Riverside City Fire Honor Guard, established in 1995. He continued to serve with pride and dedication, honoring our fallen up to his last event at the 2023 IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial in Colorado Springs.

From 2013 to 2020, Scott also served on the RCFA Board of Directors, where he fought tirelessly for better wages, benefits, and working conditions for all members. His leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment to his brothers and sisters will never be forgotten.

We love you, Scott. You will be deeply missed — but your legacy, your laughter, and your example will live on in all of us.

To honor Scott’s legacy, please consider making a donation to the Riverside City Firefighters Foundation at www.givebutter.com/BCWilson

While responding to a call, our members spotted a woman in distress on a overpass. Without hesitation, they worked together to safely pull her back to safety.

Their quick thinking and compassion saved a life.

We’re proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with these brave men and women who serve our community—on and off the fireground.
