Highlighting one of the eighteen Exceptional Graduates from April’s academic awards. Lila Deinhammer from in .official started volunteering at the Southwest Justice Center when she heard about the Youth Court program through her Mock Trial coach. The program encourages juveniles that have plead guilty of a school infraction to stand before a jury of their peers—their fellow students. Providing them an opportunity to speak and understand the judgement of the juvenile court. The goal is to steer these youth into recovery through a variation of resources.

Lila looks forward to the program every month, where she has served in every aspect of the court along with supporting the actual person undergoing trial. She believes that everyone deserves a second chance, which is why she will pursue a career in law. ⚖️

A great demonstration of individual impact and purpose!
