[PRESS RELEASE - 5/21/26 1:00PM]: Van Buren Boulevard has reopened with one lane available in each direction. Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling through the area. Please view the attached press release for important information regarding Van Buren Boulevard, wildfire preparedness, evacuation readiness, and local emergency alerts for city and county jurisdictions.

Crews continue to improve containment lines on the City of Riverside side of the Bain Fire.

Firefighters are continuing to be challenged due to the warm, dry and windy conditions. Crews are seeking out heat and smoke along the fire perimeter to establish a controlled perimeter.

RFD will continue to work through the evening and days to come to improve containment lines. This will further reduce the chance of a flare up and continued progression of the fire.

The City of Riverside is advancing the South Main Complete Street Project to bring street improvements to Main Street (between Third Street and SR-60 ). Join us for a community workshop to explore ways to make the corridor safer, more accessible, and easier to navigate!
