Government Day for the Leadership Riverside Class of 2027 started at City Hall. For one cohort member, it included a stop at the Robert J. Fitch County Archives.

Assistant Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder Chris Gray spent the day as a mentor to Dr. Jungmiwha Bullock, a local business owner and leader with Riverside’s JKBN Gallery. The two walked a couple of blocks from Riverside City Hall to the County Administrative Center, where Chris showed her the public service counters our residents visit every day and explained the breadth of legally mandated duties at the Riverside County Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder’s office.

Then they headed behind the scenes.

Our archives hold Riverside County’s story in ledgers, maps and deeds, the paper trail of every family and business that put down roots here. Dr. Bullock was taken with it right away. She’s already planning a return trip to spend more time exploring Riverside history, and we’ll happily hold the door for her.

Leadership Riverside is a 10-month program from the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce that brings together decision-makers from local business, government, nonprofits and education to study the issues shaping the region. Thank you to the Chamber for putting future leaders face to face with the people running local government. We look forward to watching this cohort learn and lead.
