Our Communications Officers answer emergency and non-emergency calls for both Riverside Police and Fire, from life-threatening situations to everyday requests for help. Meet a few of the dispatchers who do it every day.

We’re looking for someone who:
✅ Stays calm under pressure
✅ Stays organized and pays attention to detail
✅ Wants to do work that truly helps people

The role also includes a $2,500 annual HSA contribution and 11 paid holidays. Testing is for applicants only, so submit your application first.

Our officers and dispatchers traded in their uniforms for costumes at Trunk or Treat on Saturday!

We really leaned into the Toy Story theme with Woody, Bo Peep, and Slinky Dog. Our dispatchers also went all out with a candy-themed trunk.

Many of our officers worked the event and stayed through Carved to keep everyone safe late into the night. Thanks to each of them for their hard work!

Events like this give us a chance to connect with the community outside of a call for service. Thank you to every family who came out to say hi, and to the City of Riverside for hosting. We can’t wait to do it again next year!

Trunk or Treat + Carved means temporary closures around City Hall and Renner Brenner Park this week.

The free Trunk or Treat runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, in front of City Hall, and Carved’s Haunted Trail opens across the street at Renner Brenner Park at sunset.

Please plan ahead for these closures:

🚧 Vivion Road and High Drive: Closed starting at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17
🚧 Renner Brenner Park: Closed Wednesday, Oct. 14, through Sunday, Oct. 18
🚧 Jumping Branch Trail: Closed Thursday, Oct. 15, through Sunday, Oct. 18

Residents in the neighborhoods off NW 50th Street won’t be able to reach the event from Jumping Branch Trail, so please plan another route. Expect heavy foot traffic Saturday evening, and please drive slowly and watch for trick-or-treaters.

You kept our officers busy at Corner Cafe on Saturday and tipped $2,391 for Special Olympics Missouri! 🧡

We teamed up with the Platte County Sheriff’s Office and our friends at the Fire Department to serve breakfast for Tip-A-Cop. Every tip goes to Special Olympics Missouri through the Law Enforcement Torch Run, and Corner Cafe added a donation of its own.

Thank you to our officers, dispatchers, firefighters, and the Platte County Sheriff’s Office for giving up a Saturday morning, and to Corner Cafe and everyone who came out to eat!

Know a family who could use a little help this Christmas? Shop with a Cop & Firefighter is back for its 20th year!

Our officers and firefighters will take about 50 kids, ages 5 to 18, on a shopping trip to pick out presents. Every kid gets a budget to spend, and every family takes home a Christmas meal. Each kid gets paired with an officer or firefighter to shop with.

To qualify, kids need to live in the Park Hill School District and come from a family that meets income guidelines. Kids in foster and guardianship homes qualify, too.

Shopping day is Saturday, December 12. Space is limited, so don’t wait to sign up!

Rest assured, K9 Furko is very good at his job... this just isn't his job.

Furko works alongside his handler, Cpl. Madison Crowdes, to help keep Riverside safe. Give him a break, though, and he'll find the biggest stick in sight and run laps until someone makes him stop.

Both jobs get 100% of his effort.

Enjoy breakfast served by your local officers at Corner Cafe's Riverside location this Saturday, October 10, and maybe treat yourself to one of their famous cinnamon rolls!

Officers from the Riverside Police Department and the Platte County Sheriff's Office will wait tables from 8 a.m. to noon for Tip-A-Cop. Every tip they collect supports the Law Enforcement Torch Run, which raises money for Special Olympics Missouri athletes.

You may spot a little pink on our uniforms throughout October. Those pink badges are our way of honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer is now the second most diagnosed cancer in the world, and routine screening helps catch it early, when it's most treatable. We hope this small change serves as a reminder to schedule that screening and to encourage the people you love to do the same. 💗

Two Riverside sergeants recently took the stage in front of a sold-out crowd!

Brooks & Dunn invited Sergeants Aimee DiGeronimo and Brian Dolan onstage during "Only in America" at Morton Amphitheater Friday night, part of a tradition honoring law enforcement at shows across the country.

Our sergeants stood alongside officers from the Platte County Sheriff's Office, Kansas City Police Department, and North Kansas City Police Department.

Thank you, Brooks & Dunn, for recognizing the officers who keep our communities safe. We're proud of Sergeants DiGeronimo and Dolan and every member of the Riverside Police Department who serves our city every day!
