From e-bikes and e-scooters to pit bikes and e-motos, we’re seeing them everywhere. From legal riding to illegal riding. From stock to modified, they are in our neighborhoods, parks, schools, and streets. But the biggest question is: do you know what is legal and what is not?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Today, we will be discussing the different types of e-bikes, what age you have to be to ride them, where they can legally be ridden, and the laws that need to be followed.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The biggest takeaway we want for parents and riders is to stay informed. Accidents are increasing, and with those accidents comes the potential for serious injuries, fatalities, and legal consequences.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Knowing the laws, understanding safety requirements, and riding responsibly can help keep everyone safe.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Stay tuned for education on e-scooters and e-motos! 🚲⚡🛴⁣⁣

Our Traffic Unit is doing more than just commercial vehicle checkpoints.

You may start seeing our Commercial Enforcement Unit patrolling areas where axle restrictions are in place throughout Riverside. These restrictions help protect our roadways and keep traffic moving safely.

Officers are also contacting and educating drivers along the way to increase awareness of posted axle limits and designated truck routes.

Commercial drivers are reminded to follow all posted restrictions when traveling through the city.
