Riverside County Sheriff's CCW Unit

We currently still have availability for the initial CCW class hosted at the Ben Clark Training Center. The class is on June 16-17th from 5-9pm and June 20th from 8-5pm. Please call the CCW unit at 951-486-2856 if you would like to register for the course.

Our offices will be closed on February 12th and February 16th for Lincoln’s birthday and Presidents’ Day.

Additionally, please remember to complete your training and apply for your renewal prior to the expiration of your current permit. Due to AB1078, which went into effect the start of the new year, DOJ requires notification of any CCW permit that is 90 days or more expired.

If your permit is over 90 days expired without an open pending application on permitium, you would have to restart the entire process over again as an initial applicant. Please remember to stay on top of your training!

The CCW Unit Palm Desert Office will be closed on Wednesday, December 10th. The Riverside location will still be open.

The CCW Unit will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in observance of Veterans Day 🇺🇸

Our CCW Unit is working diligently on completing your New or Renewal applications. Make sure all your documents are uploaded to your portal and our investigators will process your application as soon as they can!

New CCW Applicants need a 16 hour training class and Renewal Applicants need a 8 hour training class every 2 years. Once completed, upload your certificate and qualifications sheet to your portal. We have over 60 outside approved vendors to choose from. Check out our website www.riversidesheriff.org

Please be camera ready when picking up your CCW permit card. We will need an updated thumb print and photo for your new card. Our office hours are Monday thru Thursday 8:00 am until 3:30 pm and Friday 8:00 am until 12:00 noon.
