CBK Spotlight!

CBK would like to spotlight Brianna G, from our Hemet Empower Youth CBK Site. Brianna said that one of her favorite memories at CBK was meeting Mrs. Reeves, her teacher for the first time. Her daughter and Mrs. Reeves have been her biggest supporters through everything. For a long time, Brianna dreamed of graduating, but she often doubted herself and wondered if she would ever make it.

This year, she has decided to take school more seriously, and it has made a big difference. Brianna says, " I'm getting my work done and proving to myself that I can succeed."

After graduation, Brianna plans to start working and build a brighter future for her daughter. She is most excited about watching her daughter grow and creating opportunities for both of them. She hopes to get her driver's license and continue to move forward.

👏 Congratulations, Brianna, on your hard work, resilience, and commitment to your future. We're proud of you!

Wellness Wednesday with CBK!
Be an UPSTANDER, Not a Bystander! When you see someone being treated unfairly, you have the power to make a difference.
Being an upstander can look like:💬 Speaking up when it's safe to do so, 🤝 Including someone who feels left out, 👋 Checking in with someone who is struggling, and 📢 Telling a trusted adult when someone needs help.
This week's reminder: If you see something, say something. Your voice matters!

Wellness Wednesday with CBK!
October is National Bullying Prevention Month, making this a great time to think about how our words and actions affect others. Before you speak, ask yourself: Is it kind? Is it helpful? Would I want someone to say this to me? You never know what someone else may be going through. A small act of kindness can make a BIG difference. 💛
This week’s challenge: Say something kind to someone who may need to hear it. You might make their day! 😊
