Happy Pride Month! As Vice Chair of the LGBQ Caucus, I remain committed to fighting for equality, protecting LGBTQ+ rights, and ensuring every person can live authentically and safely. Today and every day, I stand with the LGBTQ+ community.

Today, Governor Newsom signed my Senate Bill 73 into law, which takes effect immediately. The enactment of SB 73 protects Californians’ sacred right to vote free from fear of intimidation or interference and safeguards the essential integrity of elections in California. I want to thank Governor Gavin Newsom, Pro Tem Senator Monique Limón, Speaker Robert Rivas, and my Democratic colleagues in the Legislature for their partnership in meeting this moment with urgency and resolve.

It was a pleasure attending today’s Latino Network Celebración de la Comunidad y Justicia Breakfast. It was truly an honor to introduce Tony Plana and celebrate the incredible work being done to uplift and empower our communities through advocacy, justice, and collective action. Thank you to Latino Network for bringing together leaders, advocates, and community members dedicated to creating lasting change.

Today we pause to honor and remember the brave individuals who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Honored to join Inland Counties Legal Services and the Human Rights Coalition at the Civil Rights Institute of Inland Southern California for the Know Your Rights: Pride in Protections event. Together, we continue uplifting and protecting our LGBTQ+ community.

Today on the Senate Floor, we honored the fallen active-duty service members in observance of Memorial Day. We are forever grateful to the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

I am grateful the state secured FEMA assistance to support response efforts to the Bain Fire impacting our communities.
Thank you to all the firefighters and first responders working around the clock on both the Bain and Verona fires to protect lives and neighborhoods. Stay safe and follow local evacuation guidance.

I am proud to announce that I have selected Inland Counties Legal Services (ICLS) as the 2026 Nonprofit of the Year for the 31st Senate District! Through tireless legal advocacy and services, ICLS has gone above and beyond to work toward the betterment of the Inland Empire community. Since its founding in 1958, ICLS has demonstrated its commitment to uplifting our communities, expanding access to legal aid, and convening its organization to proactively tackle gaps in justice.

As we come to the end of Teachers Appreciation Week we want to recognize that behind every success story is a teacher who believed, encouraged, and guided along the way. We are grateful for the lasting impact educators have on our communities and future generations. 🍎
