Pvt. Carlos Paz-Sosa, who was recruited out of RS Riverside, defied all odds & lost over 100 lbs to follow his dream of becoming a U.S. Marine. In November 2022, Paz-Sosa began working out with his recruiter SSgt Larsen, where they developed a strict plan that enabled him to lose enough weight to join the delayed entry program and ship to recruit training shortly after. Paz-Sosa's journey from struggling with weight to becoming a Marine exemplifies the essence of resiliency and camaraderie. His story is a powerful reminder that the path to achieving one's goals is paved with hard work, determination, and the unwavering support of family and friends.
