Winthrop was founded in 2000 by local residents John and Kay Sullivan who had a simple dream for their family: to raise their children in a community where neighbors actually know each other—a real place, designed for connection.

For more than two decades, Winthrop has grown from that vision. Today, that family lives in the community they imagined, and they continue to shape Winthrop block by block.

Winthrop exists because so many people have been part of our story.

Today, Winthrop’s 148 acres are home to families, students, residents, and so many local businesses—all part of one connected neighborhood.

Within Winthrop are the distinct districts of Winthrop Town Centre, Winthrop Common, and Winthrop Village, with more still taking shape over time.

But more than anything, Winthrop is a place where people have put down roots and built something together that lasts.
