Dr. Jonte Miller, a general surgeon with ECU Health North Hospital, wanted to bring his expertise to a community practice while providing comprehensive care. He found a meaningful home in the Roanoke Valley. Meet Dr. Luke Bates, a board certified podiatrist now accepting new patients at ECU Health Orthopedics - Roanoke Rapids. He received a doctorate in podiatric medicine from Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine before completing additional training in foot and ankle reconstruction, diabetic foot conditions, and foot and ankle trauma at Carilion Clinic.

We were excited to welcome Roanoke Rapids High School Health Sciences Academy students Lucas Thacker, Caleb Taylor, Leah Darden, Kate Pearce, Samantha Mejia and Abby Wynne to ECU Health North Hospital for a special shadowing experience!

Students spent time with teams in Rehab Services, Plant Operations, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Registration and Cardiopulmonary Services, gaining firsthand insight into the many roles that help deliver exceptional patient care every day.

A special thank you to team members for sharing their knowledge, experiences and passion for health care. Together, we're helping inspire the next generation of health care professionals right here in the community we serve.

ECU Health North Hospital participated in the Acorn Center Community Breakfast, an event bringing together community leaders and others invested in the future of the Roanoke Valley and Lake Gaston region.

During the event, Dr. Sandeep Pandit, an oncologist with ECU Health North Hospital, and Nicole Mangel, manager of Patient Care Services, shared information about the comprehensive oncology services available at ECU Health North Hospital, including cancer treatments, support services and radiation oncology.
