Roanoke County administrative offices will be closed Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of Juneteenth. Please see the following notes about facilities and services.

* Trash Collection - All trash collection routes will be on schedule for June 15 through June 18.

* Roanoke County Public Libraries
All locations will close at 5pm on Thursday, June 18, and will be closed on Friday, June 19.
Bent Mtn: Open 1-5pm on June 18.
Mt. Pleasant: Open 11am-5pm on June 18.

*Parks, Recreation and Tourism
Green Ridge Recreation Center - Early Closure 5:30 AM - 1:00 PM.
Brambleton Recreation Center - Closed.
Parks, Recreation & Tourism Admin Office – Closed.

* CORTRAN services will be unavailable Friday, June 19.

* McAfee K**b Trailhead Shuttle will operate on a normal schedule.

* Roanoke County Clerk of Circuit Court's Office is closed Friday, June 19.

The USA Cycling Endurance Mountain Biking National Championships return to the Roanoke Valley this July!

Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge hosted a course unveiling this morning for the race routes. Championship week features the marathon hosted at Hollins University and Carvins Cove, short track at Elmwood Park, and the cross country national championships at Explore Park.

The 2026 USA Cycling Endurance Mountain Biking National Championships will be held July 12-19. And the best part? USA Cycling will return to the Roanoke Valley next year for the 2027 Cycling Endurance Mountain Biking National Championships!

Roanoke County is always trying to find ways to get employees involved with the organization. One way is through RoCo Pros - an employee resource group for staff who want to learn more about the county.

The RoCo Pros meet regularly to learn more about Roanoke County and its partners. The group also organizes and promotes volunteer opportunities for staff.

The 3rd Annual Hello Summer Festival took place last Friday, June 5th at Roanoke County’s Green Hill Park! Thousands gathered to enjoy family fun, live music from The Radio Sparks, food vendors and the Airloom Drone Shows, which featured VA250 themes with 200 drones across the night sky.
