🚨 WEATHER ALERT: HURRICANE APPROACHING – PREPARE NOW 🚨
The Rosinton Volunteer Fire Department is closely monitoring the tropical system heading toward the Gulf Coast, which is forecast to impact our area this Friday.
In addition to strong winds, heavy rainfall is expected to bring a significant risk of rising rivers, localized flash flooding, and water over roadways.
What you need to do now:
• Monitor Local Updates: Keep a close eye on weather alerts from trusted sources and the National Weather Service.
• Watch Water Levels: If you live near low-lying areas or rivers, prepare for rising waters. Do not wait until water reaches your doorstep to take action.
• Secure Your Property: Bring in outdoor furniture, loose objects, and decorations that could blow away or get swept up in rising water.
• Check Your Kit: Ensure your emergency supplies (water, non-perishable food, medications, flashlights, and batteries) are fully stocked.
• Check on Neighbors: Reach out to elderly family members, neighbors, or anyone with access/functional needs to ensure they have a storm plan and supplies
• Protect Outside Pets & Animals: Bring all pets indoors. If you have livestock or larger animals, move them to higher ground now with secure shelter and plenty of feed/water.
• TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN: Never drive or walk through flooded roadways. It only takes a few inches of moving water to sweep a vehicle away.
Rosinton VFD station will be manned and ready to go out soon as storms stops to help and assit the community. Please stay safe and stay alert and keep your batteries charged and flashlights handy
Your safety is our top priority. The men and women of Rosinton VFD (Baldwin County Station 63) are standing by and ready to respond, but please take every precaution to protect your family and property now.
