Established in 1979, Robertsville State Park preserves land once owned by Edward James Roberts, one of Franklin County’s founders and prominent land owners.

To help protect the health of parks, as well as the safety of our visitors, several Missouri state parks will be temporarily closed for scheduled managed deer hunts.

These controlled hunts are an important conservation tool that help prevent overpopulation, reduce damage to natural habitats and maintain a balanced ecosystem within the parks. We have worked closely with Missouri Dept. of Conservation to plan and coordinate these hunts.

Please note the following parks will be closed to the public during these dates:

- Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park - Nov. 6-8.
- Crowder State Park - Dec. 4-6.
- Cuivre River State Park - Oct. 31-Nov. 1.
- K**b Noster State Park - Dec. 4-5.
- Lake of the Ozarks State Park - Dec. 5-7.
- Long Branch State Park - Nov. 7-10.
- Mark Twain State Park - Nov. 7-8.
- Pomme de Terre State Park - Nov. 6-8.
- Robertsville State Park - Nov. 7-8.
- Stockton State Park - Nov. 5-8.

For the rest of the weekends in October, please stop by Camphost Karla’s site for some fun Halloween activities. We have a scavenger hunt and several coloring sheets, as well as some sidewalk chalk to help make our campground extra festive. Please bring your own crayons or markers for the coloring sheets. If you complete the scavenger hunt, come back for a spooktacular prize!

Please be advised that the park will be closed to all visitors and campers on Saturday, November 7th and Sunday, November 8th for a managed deer hunt. The park will reopen to all visitors and campers on Monday, November 9th. Please plan accordingly.

SNAKE WATCH!
Eastern Copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix)

With the weather finally cooling off, copperheads shift from more nocturnal summer habits, to warming up on roads and basking in the sun during the day. This is your friendly reminder to stay on hiking paths as their brown and copper, Hershey kiss-shaped markings perfectly blend into the autumn leaf litter. As we head into October, they will prepare to overwinter.
