Last evening Station 26, E47, R18 and WBAA 6531 were dispatched to the area of N Wayne and Penn Ave for an accident with entrapment. Assistant 26 arrived on scene and reported a 2 vehicle accident being one into a pole and one against a house. Crews confirmed initially that none of the passengers were entrapped and M6531 had patient access. At that time the entrapment assignment was recalled. During the medics patient assessment they advised they wanted the post and doors removed for Pt access. E26 then utilized it’s hurst Edraulics to remove the B post and the rear door to be able to remove the patient safely with their injuries. Crews were on scene for about an hour until the vehicles were removed by the tow company.

Next week August 25th, stop on out for dinner at Tonys Family Ristorante and Pizzeria from 4-8 where a portion of your bill is being donated to the FD! Fundraisers like this are a great way to support the Volunteer Fire Department but it also helps to support a great local restaurant!

This week the department took delivery of a new Arctic Air SCBA fill station and compressor. This would not have been possible without being awarded the 2025 PA state fire grant and to a very generous donation from a community member. Both of these helped cover about half of the cost which made the purchase feasible for us! This unit will allow members to be able to refill there air cylinders after fire calls and training so that all of our air packs are ready to go for the next call!
A special thanks goes to the family and estate of Stewart Wenrich, who generously donated $12,000 to the fire department in hopes we could upgrade and get new equipment where needed. It’s community support and generosity like this that helps us keep our firefighters equipment up to date to keep them safe.
Also a big thank you goes out to our mutual aid partners for their help over the past years with helping to refill our cylinders.

As we prepare for the Big Boy 4014 to make its way though the area tomorrow morning we would like to remind our community of the safety guidelines that have been put in place by the rail road for this event. There is a 25ft buffer in place to keep people from getting injured on the tracks as the train passes by. Common Viewing areas will be the Freeman street crossing, the Conrad Weiser Community pool for its members, and the town park. People parking along the route in different areas are asked to not block active road ways and to be considerate in not blocking or parking on other people’s property unless given permission ahead of time. Timing for this is our best guesstimating is it will be in our area between 1045 and 12 depending on the smooth travel from locomotive. Again there will be a 25ft buffer in place from Robesonia Borough and there will be markings in the park designating this. Also a reminder this event is happening during the parks tot lot program time so other areas will be closed off for that in the morning. We will have crews on hand if any emergencies should arise.
