EVERY JOURNEY MATTERS. EVERY CHILD COUNTS.
Monroe County is working to help children and families feel more confident and prepared to safely walk, bike, and roll to school, recreation areas, and other everyday destinations.

The Monroe County Walk and Roll Program is being developed with schools, educators, families, and community partners to identify safety concerns, barriers, and opportunities to support safer walking, biking, and rolling for children across the County.

We want to hear from parents and caregivers.

Take the Guardian/Caregiver Survey and share your experiences and ideas to help shape the program.

It was so great to join Brockport Central School District for their Walk to School day event! Definitely one of the best we have gone to and a great model for other school districts.
We shared the Safe Routes to School program we're working on and encouraged community participation. Please help direct our curriculum based on your own experiences! https://www.monroecounty.gov/walkroll

Today is Walk & Roll to School Day! Whether students are walking, biking, scooting, or rolling to school, drivers can help keep every trip safer by slowing down, staying alert, and watching carefully at crossings, bus stops, and school entrances.

Today is Walk & Roll to School Day!

Thousands of students, parents and educators across the country are celebrating the joy of active commuting — and we're reminding drivers to keep school routes safe:

🚸 Follow school zone speed limits and stay alert near bus stops.
👁️ Look for children walking or biking, especially when turning at intersections.
📱 Keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

Happy International Coffee Day! ☕ Grabbing a cup is a great way to celebrate responsibly — but remember: coffee and energy drinks ⚡ do not sober you up or cure drowsiness.

If you are impaired or tired, do not drive. 🚫 Pull over safely if you begin to feel sleepy; a nap is more effective for drowsiness. 😴 When alcohol or drugs are involved, time is the only cure for impairment. ⏳
