Our Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration kicks off at 5:00 PM!

Talk about starting the break with a bang!

On Friday, the Buffalo Bills hype team made their way to Rochester to visit Virgil I. Grissom School No. 7! DJ Milk, DJ Yes, and Billy Buffalo brought the energy to get students ready for the break. Between trivia, a touchdown dance contest, and tons of games, the smiles and dance moves were unmatched!

Thank you to the Buffalo Bills for showing our students so much love! 💙

Huge congratulations to Mrs. Jones on receiving the News 8 Golden Apple Award!

At Flower City School No. 54, Mrs. Jones builds a culture of care in her classroom every single day, even teaching her students how to call the nurse if an emergency ever arises. That preparation was put to the test during dismissal when a student experienced a medical emergency. Mrs. Jones stayed calm, acted fast, and performed the Heimlich maneuver without hesitation. Because she had already prepared her class, her students knew exactly how to get the nurse, and the situation was handled smoothly.

Her care didn't stop there. Recognizing how unsettling the moment was, she immediately brought her class together for a social-emotional circle to process what happened and make sure everyone felt safe and supported.

Her composure, quick thinking, and love for her kids show just how far a dedicated teacher will go. We are so thankful for you, Mrs. Jones!
