The Rochester Protectives are one of the few remaining 100% Volunteer Fire Salvage Company’s in the U.S. We provide both fire and non-fire salvage services to the City of Rochester, NY. The Protectives provide assistance to the City of Rochester Firefighters, some of which include:
Covering or removing property
Recovering family valuables
Providing ventilation through the use of smok

Over 350 calls, we responded to
Over 10,000 hours of ride time
3 members graduated from firefighter 1
6 members were hired by Rochester Fire Department
There are so many new things we are looking forward to in 2026, and we cant wait to share them with you!

Shout out to LT Mahnsean Boley, LT Kania Williams and LT Kalia Williams who are currently going through FF1! They have a few more weeks left till graduation. They recently had their family night where they show off some of their skills and what they have learned over the past few months!
