This was great to have the Mayor join, so much good work being done by the School Board, City Council, City Employees, and active residents of Rochester. Glad Samantha Battis for Rochester School Board Ward 6A has produced this platform to discuss it. Encourage more interested residents join the next one live and bring their questions and ideas about how local government works and what can serve them better.

This is a great PSA about some basic traffic laws and the interactions between cars and pedestrians. Thank you RPD.

Good governance means learning from what we learn.

Last night, we brought five special education policies to the Governance Committee for review following our PAGS process. As a school board member, policy and oversight are part our responsibility. The goal: clearer expectations, stronger safeguards, meaningful family participation, and better educational access for our students.

This is governance in action: listen, learn, review, and improve. ❤️

🎙️ A NEW PODCAST EPISODE OF COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS IS LIVE!

This was such an incredible conversation that we actually ran 30 minutes over! 😂

There was so much community interaction, thoughtful input, and honest conversation. This is exactly what Community Conversations is about, bringing local voices together and making space for our community to be heard. Thank you to Kevin Sullivan for Rochester City Council Ward 6 for all the heavy lifting with this episode. 💪💙

What a night! 💙💛

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us tonight for our Community Conversation.

We started a little later than planned thanks to some technical difficulties, and we ended up running about 30 minutes over, but honestly, we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

The discussion was that good.

Thank you to Mayor Grassie, School Board Member Carlberg, and Councilman Richardson for joining us and being willing to engage in a thoughtful, open conversation.

And most importantly, thank you to our community. ❤️

The questions, concerns, ideas, and perspectives you brought to the conversation are exactly why these conversations matter. We covered so many important topics, and there was clearly so much more that people wanted to talk about.

This isn’t about having all the answers.

It’s about asking the questions, listening to one another, and finding ways to move our community forward together.

Thank you for your patience with the technical hiccups, your willingness to participate, and for staying with us, even when we went well past our scheduled end time!

We may have started late, but we certainly didn’t run out of things worth talking about. 😊

More conversations to come.
💙💛 Thank you, Rochester.

❤️ Thank You, Rochester!

Thank you to everyone who joined City Councilor Kevin Sullivan and me for another episode of Community Conversations.

We spent the evening discussing how local government works, answering questions, and having thoughtful conversations about issues that matter to our community.

One of my favorite parts of the evening was seeing so many people participate. Your questions, comments, and respectful dialogue are what make these conversations meaningful.

Thank you to Kevin for being such a great partner in this series and for helping make local government more approachable and understandable.

If you weren’t able to join us live, the replay is available on this page. I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’ve had a chance to watch.

What topic would you like us to explore in a future Community Conversations? ❤️

Little delayed, but it was great to see the tree lighting last Friday, Mayor Callaghan's reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, the candy cane dance performance, and participate in the Rochester Main Street's Festival of trees. Can't believe we were lucky enough to win one and even better, from a Ward 6 Business, thank you Revolution Taproom & Grill!!

I want to thank everybody in Ward 6 that came out to vote. It was a cold windy day at the polls, but I saw so many familiar faces. I really appreciate the time those took to answer their doors and talk with me when I went door knocking around the Ward on the weekends.

It was an extremely close race and I want to commend Amy Malone for that hard fight. I think there are more things Amy and I agree on then we disagree on and I hope we can have an open communication between us to achieve shared goals that Ward 6 voters want. I look forward to working with Mayor Grassie and the 11 other councilors to spend the next 2 years making Rochester better for all residents with every vote we take representing you.

Thank you!
