ANNUAL KICKSTART SYMPOSIUM

Leadership Rochester is engaging in AI- A Conversation Beyond the Technology.

Everyday, AI is changing how we work, lead, learn, create, and connect. But the conversation goes far beyond the technology.

It raises important questions about leadership, strategy, human judgment, generational perspectives, the future of work, and how we navigate change together.

How do we use AI thoughtfully and responsibly? How do we bridge generational perspectives? How can leaders and organizations embrace innovation while keeping people at the center?

These are not just questions for technologists. They are questions for leaders, professionals, educators, students, entrepreneurs, and anyone curious about the future we are shaping.

Join Leadership Rochester, at Nazareth University , on Friday, January 15, 2027 for our annual Kickstart Symposium exploring AI as a layered conversation where technology meets humanity, strategy, leadership, and society.

Learning beyond the classroom and leaning Into the community.

This past Friday, Our class explored the connections between poverty, housing insecurity, homelessness, through the lens of human services and met leaders working to turn complex challenges into meaningful change.

Maria Cristalli, CEO and President of Hillside Family of Agencies; Miguel Melendez, Rochester City Council President; and Commissioner Thaila Wright of Monroe County’s Department of Human Services shared key insights and trends impacting our region.

The Rochester Monroe County Anti- Poverty Initiative’s(RMAPI’s)Martha Cole, Strategic Partner and Community Engagement Manager, and Rebekah Meyer, Operations Manager, brought learning to life through interactive engagement.

Site visits with Volunteers of America, Connected Communities, and YWCA offered a firsthand look at community responses in action.

The day culminated in “Intersections of the Unhoused,” a powerful panel of voices featuring Community Advocate Jeiri Flores; Junior Dillion, President and CEO at Volunteers of America; Elissa Burke, Chief Program Officer, at Starbridge; Katie DiSalvo, LMHC Director of Prevention Services, at Delphi Rise; and Mai Abdullah, Executive Director at Refugees Helping Refugees.

Leadership calls us to understand challenges, build relationships, and find the courage to act. Thank you to every leader and organization who helped our class make connections beyond the looking glass… to be continued.
