Rochester Red and Black was founded in 2011. Starting in 2012, we became a part of a regroupment process between several Class Struggle Anarchist organizations.
This process resulted in the recent formation of the Black Rose Anarchist Federation. We will be transitioning our name from Rochester Red & Black to Rochester Black Rose to reflect this.

In response to Locust Club President Mike Mazzeo's unforgivable comments regarding the brutalization of a 9 year old child, we call on our friends and allies in the Rochester Labor Council to break ties with the Locust Club. Some people hear "ethnostate" when Indigenous peoples say or when Black folks say . There is a genuine fear that Black and Indigenous peoples (and other POC) will do exactly to the oppressor what has been done to us. Take note, asking for justice and accountability has nothing to do with building an ethnostate. In fact, what we're trying to do is dismantle white supremacy and settler colonialism, the very institutions that have tried to destroy Black, Indigenous, and other POC.
