ROC the Block is back!

President Meléndez joined Mayor Evans today to preview the first 2026 ROC the Block employment fair at Paul Bianchi Park on Wednesday, June 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

While you’re at the fair, be sure to check out the City of Rochester’s Workforce Development truck!

ROC the Block is a community-based hiring initiative that brings businesses and recruiters to the city's four quadrants throughout the summer and early fall. With this fun, local, block-party-styled event, Rochester employers and residents can meet to discover employment opportunities.

City Councilmember Mitch Gruber met with sixth graders from the Genesee Community Charter School today, who gave a presentation about play equity and offered ideas for improved playgrounds and open streets in Rochester.

After the presentation, Councilmember Gruber delivered a proclamation on behalf of all of City Council in celebration of the International Day of Play. Thanks to all the students who came to City Hall to use their voices!

Mayor Evans' proposed 2026-27 budget, totaling just over $706 million, is now live at CityofRochester.gov/budget.

Over the next few weeks, City Council will conduct an extensive review process culminating in budget hearings with each City department in the last week of May, followed by a vote on the budget at the June City Council meeting.
