Today is Election Day across New York State for fire commissioners. We are aware of a number of our member agencies that have contested races of their supported candidates. Of these agencies, it is alarming to note that some have made moves recently that are some of the most progressive and beneficial for the respective taxpayers of their jurisdictions. We are seeing attacks on the Unions for taking a position to support their taxpayers. What’s more troubling are the smear tactics and false claims being made when the firefighters are supporting their candidates with true facts.

Please help our goal of public safety. Contrary to some of the claims, these aren’t “Union” issues, they’re a matter of public safety.

Voting is District specific but in most cases, they are open until 9pm tonight. If there are questions, please send them to us and we will get you information.
