The Catholic Courier/Catholic Charities Christmas Appeal, now in its 54th year, raises money for the emergency funds of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester offices and affiliated agencies. These funds support our neighbors in need, giving them hope that they are not alone.

The funds are often distributed to other community organizations in the form of Hunger Relief Grants and other one-time grants to advance their work.

Christmas Appeal tops 90-percent mark - Catholic Courier Donations from a variety of sources helped the 44th-annual Catholic Courier/Catholic Charities Christmas Appeal attain more than 90 percent of its $50,000 target goal.

Christmas Appeal nears its goal - Catholic Courier With more than 86 percent of its goal having been reached by mid-January, the 44th-annual Catholic Courier/Catholic Charities Christmas Appeal is bearing down on its target total of $50,000.

Hundreds of refugees daily make their way to Mary’s Place, where they receive clothing, food and education in the form of tutoring in the English language, training in computer skills and other services.
