Twenty-five years have passed since September 11, 2001, but for so many, it still feels like yesterday.
We remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives taken that morning. We remember the families who said goodbye to their loved ones, never knowing it would be the last time. We remember the first responders who ran toward danger, the heroes who gave everything, and the countless acts of courage, kindness, and sacrifice that followed.
Behind every name was a life, a story, a family, and someone deeply loved. Time cannot erase their memory or lessen the weight of what was lost. We also honor the rescue and recovery workers who served in the aftermath and all those who have suffered or died from 9/11-related illnesses.
America was forever changed that morning. We witnessed unimaginable evil and devastating loss, but we also witnessed extraordinary courage, compassion, and a nation united. In one of our darkest hours, the American people stood together and showed the strength and resilience that define our country.
America may be tested, but America will never be broken. Twenty-five years later, we will always remember.
