One of our great traditions here for West Irondequoit middle school students is Outdoor Education! Here are some pictures from Rogers Middle School sixth-graders spending the day at Camp Arrowhead in Pittsford. The day included fishing, climbing, archery, creek swimming, singing, jumping pads and tie-dye shirts and more! Thank you to the staff for submitting the pics!

🎓The Senior Parade was pumping! Thanks for supporting the Class of 2026!!
🗣️STUDENT VOICE MATTERS: For nearly 20 years, our district has included Student Representatives on the Board of Education — an important role that ensures student perspectives are heard at the highest level. Each month, these representatives visit a different West Irondequoit school to speak directly with students about their experiences. They ask thoughtful questions: What do you enjoy about school? What have you learned? How are you learning it? And, what could be improved? They compile their findings into a report to share at the Board’s monthly business meeting. This year’s trio of representatives did outstanding work. A sincere thank you to senior Richard Maulfair III and juniors Bree Hunley and Rory Hickey for their dedication and leadership. Bree and Rory have now completed their second year in this role and will continue their service next year. As Richard graduates this Sunday, we celebrate his accomplishments and wish him all the best as he pursues his passion for automotive work in college and beyond. Thank you to all three students for your meaningful contributions and commitment to amplifying student voice!

🎓Line the streets. Get the folding chairs out. Cheer on the Class of 2026! The 7th annual IHS Senior Car Parade is Thursday and will follow the same route as usual, hitting streets such as Cooper, Pinegrove, List, Thornton, Wyndale, Gardham and more!
Construction work on new turf fields at our main campus behind IHS and Dake Jr. HS, started the first week of June and progress has been dramatic. Fencing, light posts, bleachers, dugouts and more was removed, and the process of leveling the ground is under way. The end product will be a new, multi-use athletic complex featuring turf baseball and softball diamonds and a relocated area for track and field throwing events. The other phase of this capital improvement project, which was approved by district voters in December of 2024, is the transformation of the Pinegrove Learning Center, 154 Pinegrove Ave. That building also has required a massive renovation to modernize it.
