Part of our Lesslie Legacy is working to build strong character traits and skills within our students. This month’s focus is kindness. Congratulations to these students of the week!

As we wrap up our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, enjoy these pictures of some of the special activities happening at Lesslie! ❤️

Our very own Violeta, a member of our custodial team, and first-grade teacher Mrs. Gilmore teamed up for a bilingual read-aloud of If You Give a Pig a Pancake! 🥞📚

Students also got creative with a coloring contest highlighting influential Hispanic and Latino figures, including artists, athletes, and civil rights leaders! 🎨

What a wonderful way to celebrate language, culture, and the people who make our Lesslie family so special! 💛🐝

🪂🐝 Dr. Slagle took the Hornet Hustle to NEW HEIGHTS!

He promised to go skydiving if our Hornets met their fundraising goal, and he kept his word! 🎉

Thanks to our amazing students, families, friends, and community, we raised an incredible $27,810 for our Hornet Hustle Fun Run! 💛🖤

THANK YOU to everyone who donated and supported our school! We are so grateful for your generosity!

Now sit back and enjoy watching Dr. Slagle take the leap! 🪂👏

We are excited to kick off a canned food drive benefiting the Blessing Box at Harmony Baptist Church in Edgemoor! The Blessing Box is available 24/7 to provide food and support to local families and individuals experiencing food insecurity, and we are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Harmony Baptist Church to help keep it stocked. From October 13 through November 6, students and staff can bring non-perishable food items to their classrooms. This is a wonderful way for our students to work together, give back to the community, and make a meaningful difference. And, of course, the class that collects the most cans will win a PIZZA PARTY courtesy of Harmony Baptist Church!

We are so thankful for Dr. Slagle and the heart he puts into making Lesslie a special place for our students and staff! 🐝💛🖤🐝

Every student deserves to feel that they belong. Today, we celebrate Dr. Tanner Slagle of Lesslie Elementary School and thank you for helping create a school community where students feel valued.

🏃‍♀️🖤💛Hornet Hustle Fun Run! 💛🖤🏃‍♂️

Today we wrapped up our fundraiser with our Hornet Hustle Fun Run, and what a great way to celebrate an AMAZING fundraiser! 🎉🐝

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated, shared, supported, and helped our Hornets raise money for our school. Your generosity will make a huge difference in supporting our students and staff and helping make great things possible at Lesslie! 🖤💛

A special thank-you to Dr. Slagle for being our announcer and helping keep the fun run exciting, and to Mr. Sanders for DJing and providing the music that kept everyone moving! 🎤🎶 We are also incredibly grateful to everyone else who helped organize, set up, support, and make this event such a success. We could not have done it without you!

Our top fundraisers also earned the exciting opportunity to pie Officer Spencer in the face! 🥧👮‍♂️ What a fun way to celebrate their hard work and dedication!

We are so grateful for our incredible Lesslie families and community! 🐝💛🖤🐝

We’re stepping into break in style! 👟🧦😂

We wrapped up our Underground Spirit Week and our last day before break with Funky Footwear Friday! From crazy socks to funky shoes, it was the perfect way to end a fun week at Lesslie! 💚💛

🎯❤️ Underground Spirit Week continues!

Today’s theme: Dress Like a Target Employee Day 😂

Why? We’re not really sure. 🤷‍♀️ But sometimes you just need an excuse to wear red and khaki and have a little fun at school!

Our staff understood the assignment! 🎯❤️
