Thank you, Koppers!

The Koppers team came out to volunteer with us and brought a generous donation of salt and pepper shakers, cups, plates, forks and more!

We’re so thankful for neighbors who show up for our guests. You made a real difference!

Pumpkin painting day at the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen!

Our guests got creative today with a pumpkin painting contest, and the results were amazing!

Thank you to everyone who joined in and brought so much color and joy to the kitchen.

These pumpkins came straight from our friends at Cotton Hills Farm! Thanks to a grant we received last year, we’ve been able to partner with Cotton Hills for weekly deliveries of fresh produce. All summer long, our guests enjoyed fresh peaches, cucumbers, tomatoes, okra, carrots, potatoes and more.

We’re so grateful to be able to serve fresh, local food, and to share moments like today together.

We had so much fun celebrating Kay Carter’s birthday today! 🎉🍕🍦

Kay, CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank, celebrated her special day by bringing pizzas and an ice cream bar for our guests to enjoy. We were also grateful to have Oakland Presbyterian Church volunteering with us and helping make the celebration so special!

Thank you to Kay and the Oakland Presbyterian Church group for spending the day with us, serving our guests, and bringing so much joy to the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen. ❤️

Happy Birthday, Kay! We hope it was a great one!
