🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — We Remember 🇺🇸

Today, on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, Bethesda Fire Department joins our community and our nation in solemn remembrance of the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We especially honor the 343 FDNY firefighters, 60 police officers, and 8 emergency medical personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call to serve and protect others.

Their courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to duty will never be forgotten. Today, we remember not only those we lost, but also the countless firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, military members, and civilians whose lives were forever changed by the events of that day.

🕯️ We remember.
🎗️ We honor.
🇺🇸 We stand united.

Never Forget. 9•11•2001

🚨 Residential Structure Fire – Belle Regal Circle 🚨

On August 11, 2026, just after 8:30 p.m., Bethesda Fire and Newport Fire were dispatched to the 2000 block of Belle Regal Circle for a reported house struck by lightning.

Due to the size of the house Bethesda Engine 1 went ahead and requested Rock Hill Fire and Fort Mill EMS Rehab.

Newport Fire arrived first on scene and reported heavy smoke and flames showing from the garage. Crews quickly deployed a handline and brought the fire under control within minutes, preventing further spread.

Thankfully, no civilians or firefighters were injured during the incident.

We would like to thank all of our mutual aid and supporting agencies for their assistance:

• Atrium Health Fort Mill EMS
• Rock Hill Fire
• York County Sheriff’s Office
• York County Fire Marshal’s Office
• Newport Fire Department

Strong teamwork and cooperation between agencies helped bring this incident under control quickly and safely. We appreciate everyone who responded and assisted.
