Domestic violence is a leading cause of homelessness and no survivor should ever be forced to stay with an abusive partner just to keep a roof over their head. Studies show that up to 99% of domestic violence survivors experience financial abuse, and more than 70% of survivors identify “access to money” as a barrier to leaving an abuser. This means that many survivors are forced to stay with abusers for months, even years, before they can afford housing and other essentials.

Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP)

Remedies offers an Illinois Department of Human Services-approved Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP), facilitating eight groups each week to support accountability, education and positive behavioral change.

We are proud to celebrate our Program Director for Domestic Violence Services, Heather Beaufils, for receiving the Shining the Light Award in recognition of her dedication to domestic violence advocacy! 🌟

Her commitment to supporting survivors, raising awareness and making a difference in our community deserves to be celebrated.

Our staff also showed their support by wearing purple to stand in solidarity with survivors of domestic violence and help shine a light on an issue that affects so many individuals and families. 💜

Together, we can raise awareness, break the silence, support survivors and remind those experiencing domestic violence that they are not alone.

We are so proud of our Domestic Violence Program Director, Heather Beauflis.
Heather was presented with the Domestic Violence Legacy Award last night at the Shining the Light on Domestic Violence ceremony at Crusader Community Health and has dedicated over 20 years to helping survivors of domestic violence. Congrats, Heather. Well deserved!

The 17th Judicial Circuit Family Violence Coordinating Council hosted the annual “Shining the Light on Domestic Violence” ceremony Thursday evening at Crusader Community Health in Rockford to honor survivors, remember victims and recognize local advocates.
