A huge thank you to Three Rivers Park District for donating a house for our recent live burn training! 🔥🚒

Opportunities like this are rare and incredibly valuable. Live burn training lets our firefighters practice fire attack, search and rescue, ventilation, and fire behavior in real-world conditions that simply can't be recreated anywhere else. Every hour spent in a training like this makes us better prepared to protect the Rockford community.

We'd also like to thank our neighbors at West Suburban Fire District for coming out to train alongside us. Working together on the training ground builds the teamwork and familiarity that matter when we respond side by side on real calls.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this training a success, and to our firefighters for their hard work and dedication!

In the past week, we had the opportunity to meet staff and check out Transformational Therapy Services to see what they offer in our community.

Our department walked through Kingspan to complete Pre-Incident Plans, and learn about the facility, materials and potential hazards.

We spent time at the high school career fair talking to students about the fire department and fire training opportunities.

We were on the sidelines for the Rockford Rockets football game.

We had the opportunity to conduct a live house burn and conduct in the field training- more photos to come.

Does this sound like something you’d like to do? We are always looking for new firefighters who are willing to make the commitment to serve and protect the city. You can find further information on joining the department on our website https://rockfordfd.com

As fire prevention week wraps up we wanted to share some pictures with you from our week. Rockford Kindergarteners had their field trip to our Station, and our Firefighters visited MomCo at Riverwood Covenant Church. Although fire prevention is coming to an end, we encourage you to continue practicing fire safety throughout the year.
