I am proud to announce that Rockland Community College (RCC) has been awarded a $3 million federal grant to advance artificial intelligence (AI) in education and student success.

Through its five-year Artificial Intelligence for Momentum (AIM) initiative, RCC will expand AI training, support faculty and staff, and equip students with the skills needed to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven workforce.

As AI continues to advance, I will continue supporting legislation that promotes innovation while ensuring this technology is developed and used responsibly.

This past weekend, it was an honor to celebrate Hudson Valley Honor Flight’s mission and help send off veterans on their trip to Washington, D.C., where they visited memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice.

These brave men and women have given so much to our country, and they deserve to be recognized, celebrated, and thanked for all they have done. On October 20, 1981, Brink’s security guard Peter Paige, Nyack Police Sergeant Edward O’Grady, and Officer Waverly Brown were killed during a robbery of a Brink’s armored truck at the Nanuet Mall and the ensuing attack on responding officers by domestic terrorists. It was a day that forever changed Rockland County.

Every year, the Rockland community honors their memory and reflects on the ultimate sacrifice they made. Forty-five years later, we continue to remember their bravery and the lasting impact they left on our community. We will never forget these heroes or the sacrifices law enforcement officers make every day to protect and serve.
