Please join me in congratulating Antonio Maldonado of Roseville on his well-earned retirement.

Antonio has led a remarkable life giving back to our country. He served in the U.S. Army for 23 years, which included three tours in Vietnam from 1972-1974, and one tour of service in Kuwait during Desert Storm.

He was later a police officer, and most recently served as the Membership Coordinator of the California State Retirees (CSR) for the past eight years.

Yesterday, I had the honor to surprise and present Antonio with a flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol along with a Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin as a token of the nation’s gratitude.

Thank you for your service to our country, Antonio, and enjoy your retirement.

Kaiser Permanente breaks ground on a new healthcare center in Folsom!

Yesterday, I joined the groundbreaking ceremony for a new 187,000-square-foot outpatient facility that will include 60 clinical offices offering a wide range of care options in one convenient location.

Some of these services include urgent care, mental health services, expanded outpatient surgery, advanced imaging, and much more.

I had the opportunity to meet with college students at Jessup University in Rocklin. I spoke to an American Government class about the workings of Congress, the legislative process, and discussed current events. It was so encouraging to see young, eager students ask such great questions and express interest about how their government operates. Thanks for having me!

Very happy to support these efforts for a sustainable and affordable water supply in our communities.

San Juan Water District is working to strengthen water system reliability while responsibly managing customer costs. Recently, the District hit two milestones that highlight our commitment to our community.

💵 On Oct. 6, the District was awarded approximately $1.25 million in federal funding for the Kokila Reservoir Replacement Project. The new reservoir will strengthen system reliability, support fire protection, and more. Thank you again to Congressman Kevin Kiley for helping secure the funding that made this project possible.

✅ The Board of Directors voted unanimously to cancel the retail water rate increase scheduled for Jan. 1, 2027. Rates will remain unchanged for the second consecutive year.
Through careful financial planning, project savings and outside funding, the District continues investing in critical infrastructure while responsibly managing customer dollars.
