⛽️ When Your Crime Spree Runs Out of Gas
Earlier this week, our graveyard officers were on the lookout for a suspect connected to a series of fuel thefts. They were hoping for a break—and they got one at 3am.
Officer Davis happened upon a vehicle with an overwhelming odor of gasoline. The driver was also on probation, leading to a search of the vehicle.
Inside, officers found burglary tools, and, you guessed it, partially filled gas cans.
Looks like his plan was fueled by poor choices and ended with a full tank of charges. As we like to say... hooked and booked.

Volunteers – Prepared for Every Opportunity
Each quarter, our volunteers participate in training on a variety of public safety topics. During their most recent session, they teamed up with our Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) instructors for hands-on training, gaining practical experience and a better understanding of how emergency vehicles are safely and legally operated in high-stress situations.
In addition to receiving instruction, the team participated in an interactive low speed course.
A special THANK YOU to our EVOC team for their work in putting this training together.

We will continue to double down on e-bike education and enforcement to ensure riders and parents understand the rules, responsibilities, and safety expectations.
💡Thinking about buying an e-bike? 🛑 Say NO to e-Motos.
Many e-Motos are falsely advertised and sold as e-bikes. They are not street legal and cannot be operated on public streets in Rocklin.
A legal e-bike must have:
✔ Working pedals
✔ An electric motor with a maximum output of 750 watts
✔ A maximum speed of 20-28 mph (depending on class)
Parents: If you knowingly allow your child to ride an illegal e-Moto, you will be held legally and financially responsible for their actions.
Riders: If you're caught operating an illegal e-Moto, expect enforcement action. Citations are expensive. Tow bills are expensive.
As a reminder, only Class 1 e-bikes are permitted on Rocklin Unified School District K-8 campuses.
Not street legal? Not street rideable.

The tire bandits struck again this morning. Their latest target? An unlucky Honda Civic.
Thieves are targeting newer-model Toyota Camry and Corolla, and Honda Civic and Accord vehicles with sport trim rims and tires. Thefts usually happen in the overnight/early morning hours to vehicles parked in apartment complexes.
As a deterrent, install wheel locks/locking lug nuts and park in well lit areas. If you’re able, store your vehicle in a secure garage. Ask your complex to install surveillance cameras if they don't already have them.
This trend is not specific to Rocklin. If you become a victim of wheel or tire theft, contact the Police Department non-emergency number (916) 625-5400 to file a report. If you see suspicious activity, report it!
