Christine Anderson Park | Park 12 of 26
East Rocklin | 4221 Silver Lupine Lane

We could not spotlight this one without telling the story behind the name. Christine Anderson Park is named for the woman who has spent decades leaving her mark on Rocklin’s parks, long before one of them bore her name.

Chris and her husband moved to Rocklin in the 70s and never stopped showing up for this community. From Boy Scouts and youth sports, to teaching and fundraisers, their roots here run deep. Chris was appointed to the Rocklin Parks and Recreation Commission in 1986 and has been a tireless advocate for Rocklin’s green spaces ever since. She wrote grants, led creek restoration efforts, worked with hundreds of students on stewardship projects in city parks, and spent years growing oak seedlings with school children and planting them right here in the parks you have been visiting all year. She also happens to be the person who inspired this very campaign!

The park itself is a lovely little neighborhood gem, opened in 2018 and perfect for small children. Shaded picnic tables, a playground, and a butterfly garden that is exactly as charming as it sounds. It is a peaceful place to visit and a meaningful stop on your Park Passport journey. Keep your eyes open when you visit, you might just make a new winged friend.

Clarke Dominguez Neighborhood Park | Park 11 of 26
East Rocklin | 2980 Crest Drive

Clarke Dominguez Park carries the name of a man who gave decades of his life to this community. Known as Mr. Rocklin, Clarke Dominguez served the City of Rocklin for over 30 years and was described by those who knew him as someone who treated every resident like a neighbor worth knowing. A park named in his honor, sitting up on a crest with sweeping views of the city below, feels exactly right.

The elevation alone makes this one worth the visit. Perched above the surrounding neighborhood, the park offers scenic views of Rocklin that you simply do not get at ground level, and the open setting gives the whole place a sense of space and openness that is hard to put into words until you are standing there. A preschool playground, basketball court, picnic tables, benches, and winding pathways round out the experience whether you are there for an active afternoon or simply a quiet moment with a great view. It is a fitting tribute to someone who spent his career making sure Rocklin was a place worth showing up for.
