Thank you to Camden Conference Vice President Stephen Harder for providing us with a clear and concise overview of the history of US/Taiwan/China relations and helping us understand the various scenarios that might lie ahead. We are a week away from our Halloween Costume Parade! We'd like to send our costumed puppy friends from PAWS home with some goodies! Please consider donating toys, food, blankets, anything that might make them comfortable. You can drop off with Stephanie in the Children's Room. We will present these items to our furry friends at the parade!🐕🎃

WOW! The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) is doing some AMAZING work in the forests of Maine! Carolyn Ziegra, AMC’s Forest Manager, and Chelsea Daniels, AMC’s Community Relations Manager joined us last week and described their many, MANY projects -- from responsibly replanting old logging land with diverse tree species, to removing clogged culverts to help fish populations travel further inland, to managing lodges that help people recreate in some of the most pristine woodlands (and SO MUCH MORE). Be sure to join us for our NEXT AMC talk at the Rockport Library on Wednesday, November 4, at 6 p.m. Representatives from Dark Sky Maine will be joining us to explore the importance of protecting Maine's dark skies. What a wonderful Saturday morning we had! We want to extend a huge thank you to the Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers for visiting us and putting on a fantastic performance of "The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow." It was absolutely delightful to see so many familiar faces and friends in the audience. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the show!

Don't forget! Wednesday the 28th at 4:00 p.m. will be our Halloween Costume Parade, complete with costumed rescue dogs from PAWS.Stephanie hopes to see you there! 🎃

We haven't forgotten about our teen patrons... With the school year in full swing, our Teen Room is ready! Students are already stopping in for study sessions and group projects. Come relax, grab a snack from the treasure box, and enjoy a spot all your own to work hard this year. A reminder that Wednesday nights we are open until 8 and you are more than welcome to bring your food, some have even ordered pizza to split between friends! 📝🥤🍕
