🚒 Congratulations, Luis Romero Ruiz! 🎉

Please join us in congratulating Luis Romero Ruiz on successfully completing his probationary period and officially becoming a full-fledged member of the Rockwall Fire Department!

Luis’s crew celebrated this exciting milestone at the station and presented him with his permanent black helmet shield, marking his achievement and his place on the team. 🖤🚒

Of course, no probationary completion would be complete without a RFD tradition! The crew made sure Luis got the full experience with an unexpected dousing of water to celebrate the occasion.

Congratulations, Luis! We’re proud to have you as part of the Rockwall Fire Department family and look forward to all you’ll accomplish. Stay safe out there!

We've been busy with the Texas K9 Conference this week but we want to take time and recognize National Fire Pup Day❤️🔥🚒. We want to honor our exceptional arson K9, Vigil. She has been hard at work during the conference, training and sharpening her skills to work in the field and assist our investigators. Happy Fire Pup Day Vigil! We ❤️ you!

Today we celebrated the promotion of Collin Taylor to Driver Engineer and the swearing in of our newest Firefighter Cole Jeffreys. The Rockwall Fire Department proudly honored them in a moment of achievement, commitment, and new beginnings during our Promotion and Swearing-In Ceremony.

This marks an important milestone in their careers and recognizing their dedication, leadership, and service to the Rockwall community.

Family, friends, and members of the Rockwall City staff showed their support in sharing this meaningful moment.

Please join us in congratulating them all in their accomplishments! We are proud of their hard work and dedication. We are pleased to have them serving the citizens of Rockwall and look forward to the impact they will make in our community.

25 years has passed, today we pay tribute to the victims, survivors, and responders of the 2001 terror attacks on 9/11. We honor the bravery and selflessness of responders who answered the call that day.

Let the heroes of 9/11—and their unfinished stories on 9/10—remind us that tomorrow is never "just another day."

We continue to pray for peace and comfort for the many family members who have been left behind and struggle daily with the loss of loved ones.

We will never forget!

We are incredibly proud of our own!

Please join us in recognizing Captain Michael Burden, Captain Josh Turner, and Driver Engineer Jase Kirkpatrick for participating in the Dallas 9/11 Stair Climb.

Their willingness to climb in honor and remembrance of the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001, is a powerful reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and brotherhood that defines the fire service.

25 years later, the message never changes:

WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

We are honored to have these men represent our department and carry the memories of those who never made it home.

🎒 Back to school = time to review fire safety! As kids return to class, don’t forget to:
✅ Practice your home escape plan
✅ Show kids how to call 911
✅ Teach them to never hide during a fire or play with lighters or matches
✅ Review where to go during a fire drill
Firefighters train daily, families should too!

Congratulations to Captain Michael Caffey, Firefighter Cody Baumann, and Firefighter Connor Seay on receiving the Lifesaving Award for their outstanding actions on May 8, 2026.

After responding to a medical emergency involving a man in cardiac arrest, the Engine 2 crew quickly took over CPR, provided advanced life support, and worked alongside Rockwall County EMS to successfully restore the patient's pulse. Their coordinated efforts and dedication directly contributed to the patient's survival, and he was released from the hospital several days later.

Their professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to protecting our community exemplify the very best of the fire service. Please join us in congratulating these deserving recipients on this well-earned honor! 🚒❤️
