Good evening Rogers!

The fire department will be conducting training around the fire station and city hall tonight. If you see an increase in activity tonight there is no reason to be alarmed. We are just practicing real life scenarios so we can best take care of our community if the need ever arises.

🚨 FLOOD WATCH – BELL COUNTY 🚨

Rogers Volunteer Fire Department wants to remind everyone to stay alert as heavy rain and possible flooding move into our area.
A Flood Watch is in effect for Bell County from 4:00 PM Wednesday through 7:00 AM Friday.

🌧️ Heavy rainfall can cause roads to flood quickly, making travel dangerous or even deadly.

🚧 TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN!

Never drive through flooded roadways.
Remember, it only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle away.
Stay alert, monitor weather updates, and avoid flooded areas.

If you encounter a flooded road, turn around and find another route.

🚒 If you need emergency assistance, call 911.
Please stay safe, look out for your family and neighbors, and help us keep our community safe.

Rogers Volunteer Fire Department Receives $10,000 Grant from State Farm® to Purchase Needed Equipment
Donation made in collaboration with the National Volunteer Fire Council and announced in time for Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day

Rogers Volunteer Fire Department is excited to announce that it is one of 150 volunteer fire departments across the nation to receive a $10,000 grant through the State Farm®Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program. In collaboration with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), State Farm has awarded $1.5 million in grants to help local fire departments obtain needed equipment to increase their responders’ safety, effectiveness and ability to serve their community.

With this grant, Rogers Volunteer Fire Department will be able to purchase a new pump and motor to replace a pump that is not currently working on our rescue truck. Replacing the pump and motor on our rescue truck will have a direct and meaningful impact on the safety of our community. As a volunteer fire department, we depend on our rescue equipment to respond quickly and effectively when our neighbors need us most. A reliable pump is an essential component of our rescue truck, particularly during motor vehicle accidents, structure fires, medical emergencies, and other incidents where water or emergency equipment may be needed.

Having a dependable new pump and motor will reduce the risk of equipment failure during an emergency and allow our firefighters and rescuers to operate with greater confidence. It will also improve our ability to provide immediate assistance while additional resources are responding. Every minute matters during an emergency, and having equipment that is ready to perform can make a critical difference in protecting lives and property.

This investment will benefit not only our firefighters but everyone in the community we serve. A properly functioning rescue truck allows us to respond more efficiently, provide better emergency services, and help keep our residents, families, businesses, and visitors safe.
Funding a new pump and motor is an investment in the preparedness and long-term safety of our community. It will help ensure that when the call comes, our volunteers have dependable equipment they can count on to answer it.

Rogers Volunteer Fire Department responds to multiple different types of emergencies year round. These emergencies can include; structure fires, car accidents, wildland fires, medical emergencies, mutual aid with other departments and many other calls for services that are received.

“Our firefighters are dedicated to answering the call, no matter the hour or circumstance,” said Wesley McLean, Chief “Ensuring they have the right equipment and tools is essential to keeping them safe and effective on the job. This generous support from State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council will help us better protect both our responders and our community.”

This is the third year of the State Farm Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program. Volunteer fire departments are essential to public safety, especially in rural and small-town communities. However, many operate with limitedbudgets and struggle to secure the funding for criticalequipment. These grants are a lifeline for local departments to obtain equipment that will increase safety, efficiency and effectiveness.

In addition to the grants, State Farm also provided the first 2,000 applicants with a one-year membership to the NVFC – the leading association representing the volunteer fire, EMS, and rescue services – so they have access to additional tools, resources, and training to support their continued success.

Rogers VFD has been chosen for the 2026 DripDrop Hydration Giveback Program, in which we were one of only 1,000 departments nationwide. This is also our first year to receive this grant.

Rogers VFD is truly grateful for the donation from DripDrop.

Programs like these have a direct impact on our operations and the safety of the volunteers who fight fires in this Texas heat in gear that is hot. Our volunteers answer calls without hesitation to protect life and property.

This donation is so beneficial to our firefighters who carry that weight for Rogers and surrounding communities every single day.

Huge thank you to DripDrop and the NVFC for supporting rural volunteers and giving us the opportunity to participate in programs like this
