🔥 FIRE SEASON ISN’T OVER — KNOW THE RESTRICTIONS! 🚒
Yesterday’s fire (Foothill Fire) was a great reminder that we are still very much in fire season! We know many people are eagerly waiting to get outside and tackle those fall cleanup projects, but the ODF Southwest Oregon District remains in MODERATE fire danger, and restrictions are still in effect.
🍂 Cooler temperatures don’t automatically mean fire season is over. It’s important to stay informed and follow current Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) regulations to help prevent fires in our community.
🌾 A FEW IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
🔥 Debris burning is NOT allowed at this time. We know you’re ready to get those burn piles taken care of, but we’re not there just yet! When burning is eventually permitted, you will need to call the burn hotline to confirm it is an approved burn day and obtain a burning permit through Jackson County Fire District 1 if you reside within our Fire District. Permits are available at our office and through our website. Please be patient and wait until burning is officially allowed.
🌿 Mowing dry grass: Restrictions remain in effect from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please refer to ODF’s current regulations for specific requirements and exceptions.
⚠️ Be mindful of activities that could create sparks. Always check current restrictions before using equipment that could start a fire.

❤️🔥 A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS! We are incredibly grateful to the responding agencies and community partners whose quick response and teamwork helped get yesterday’s Foothill Boulevard fire under control quickly. With the fire occurring dangerously close to numerous homes and local neighborhoods, their swift actions were especially important in protecting our community. We appreciate everyone who worked together to help keep our residents safe!
Yesterday’s fire is a reminder that one spark can quickly turn into an emergency. Let’s do our part to prevent the next one!
Stay safe, stay informed, and remember — fall has arrived, but fire season isn’t over! 🚒
