GRASS FIRE UPDATE | HIGHWAY 300
Lake Maumelle Fire Department, along with West Pulaski Fire Department and the Arkansas Forestry Commission, responded to a large grass fire in the 19,000 block of Highway 300.
According to the Arkansas Forestry Commission, approximately 26 acres were involved.
The fire has been brought under control, and thanks to the hard work of crews on scene, a fire line has been cut completely around the affected area, creating a clear firebreak and containing the fire.
Residents and motorists should be aware that smoke will likely remain visible in the area. Material inside the fire line will continue to burn and smolder, and at times the amount of smoke may look concerning. However, what you are seeing is burning inside the established fire line.
Crews will continue to monitor conditions as needed.
Thank you to West Pulaski Fire Department and the Arkansas Forestry Commission for their assistance and hard work in getting this fire contained.
