Congratulations to Mrs. Lesley Pitts, Rolla High School Teacher, who was selected as the RHS September Most Valuable Bulldog! 🐾 The MVB is a true example of kindness, resilience, and Bulldog spirit. Here are a few comments from her nominations:
"I chose Mrs. Pitts because she always goes above and beyond for us. When she reads us poems, she gets into the story so much, and it helps us understand the theme of the story so much better. I can always count on her to be there for me, and I feel like I can always go to her for help with my schoolwork, help if I’m feeling stressed, or anything that’s been on my mind that day. Mrs. Pitts really does brighten up every room she walks into, and I am so happy that I got her as my English teacher."
Thank you, Mrs. Pitts, for your valuable contributions to the community!

🚍It's School Bus Safety Week!🚍

Let's give a big round of applause for the drivers, aides, and other staff who safely transport over 2,500 students to and from school every day!

As part of our annual bus safety protocols, district bus drivers will be conducting mandatory evacuation drills over the next two weeks, beginning today. Students will be instructed on drill procedures in advance but will not be given the schedule before the drill is conducted. Drivers will conduct drills in safe places away from busy roadways. If you see a bus conducting a drill, please do not be alarmed or stop and attempt to assist the driver. The drills are short, and students will continue on their routes to and from school very quickly.

Please reach out to the Transportation Department directly with questions or concerns.

The Treehouse is finished! Our friends at the PCCF Early Childhood Center were surprised to find this beautiful play area (previously hidden by a construction wall) when they arrived at school yesterday. We can't wait to share it with you at the Center's grand opening on November 12th at 4 pm! 🐾

Congratulations to Jessika Zink, Rolla Middle School Counselor, who was selected as the RMS September Most Valuable Bulldog! 🐾 The MVB is a true example of kindness, resilience, and Bulldog spirit. Here are a few comments from her nominations:
"Mrs. Zink has been a wonderful, trusted person in my daughter’s life. She has always had open arms. She has addressed every concern with kindness, understanding, and solutions. I couldn’t ask for a better role model for my daughter"
"On more than one occasion, I reached out to Mrs. Zink to discuss some concerns that my child had, and every conversation that I've had with her has left me feeling that I just interacted with someone who is passionate about her job and who cares for each and every child. Once, when I followed up on a conversation we'd had the day prior, she let me know she had already put a possible solution in place. I was very moved by the way in which she took swift action and expressed such care for my child's well-being. After that conversation, I found myself telling my husband, my mother, and a friend about how wonderful it was to feel that my child's concerns and comfort at school mattered. I never felt that my calls were a burden or that my child was unsupported. "
Thank you, Mrs. Zink, for your valuable contributions to the community!

Congratulations to Sandy Johnson, R31 Bus Aide, who was selected as the district-wide September Most Valuable Bulldog! 🐾 The MVB is a true example of kindness, resilience, and Bulldog spirit. Here are a few comments from her nominations, with special mentions for her driver duo, Chris Stout (one of last year's MVBs!):
"Sandy and Chris called me after they dropped my son off one morning to check in with me. They wanted to let me know that although he had been crying and very upset when he boarded, he calmed down within five minutes. We brainstormed together about ways to encourage him to hop on the bus right away, and after a couple of attempts, all is well. In fact, I'm not even getting a goodbye hug anymore!
Sandy and Chris have cute lights on the bus, and my son tells me they sing songs. They are both smiling and happy every time I see them. They also communicate really well, telling me about my son's progress on learning to buckle and unbuckle (for safety reasons). It's scary for a parent to put their four-year-old on a school bus, but with Sandy and Chris, I am so assured that my student is in the best hands! "

Here's to our first round of MVB awards of 2026-27! Please help us give a big round of applause to Mr. David Paul, Mark Twain Elementary Custodian, who was selected as the MT September Most Valuable Bulldog! 🐾 The MVB is a true example of kindness, resilience, and Bulldog spirit. Here are a few comments from his nominations:
"David Paul is our custodian, and he’s amazing. He keeps our building clean, and over the summer, he dealt with a lot of delays due to our new windows being put in. Instead of making teachers wait an extra day or over a weekend to move into rooms, he would come in on the weekends or stay late to get things done. And not only does he work hard, but he’s also so kind to all the staff and students.
Thanks, Mr. Paul, for all you do! Congratulations! 🎉
