Planning to join us at Walk-In-Wednesdays? Come ready to make the most of it.

A little preparation can make it easier to walk through the door with confidence and start a conversation with an employer.

Bring an updated résumé. Take a few minutes beforehand to look over the employers attending and decide who you want to meet. And remember, on-the-spot interviews will be available, so come prepared to talk about your experience, skills and what you’re looking for next.

Is that thought a fact or a story?

"I got rejected from a job." That's a fact.

"I'm going to be unemployed forever and nobody is ever going to hire me." That's a story — and it's one worth challenging.

Try this instead: "That one didn't work out. That's disappointing. There are other opportunities out there. My next step is to apply to three more this week."

That's not toxic positivity. That's redirecting your brain toward action instead of staying stuck in the spiral.
